This applies not just to those working in an office setting but is more common the larger the company is. Many times people speak just to speak and no only do not contribute to the solution, but actually make it that more difficult to make progress. Because I have been at so many meetings like this, I have grown to hate in-person meetings frankly. (At least if the meeting is over the phone, if you see it isn’t going anywhere you can tune everyone out and get some work done).
